About the project

What exactly is Sintuics?

Sintuics is a 3D foldable comic book which focuses on environment education through visually appealing comics. The comic book comes with a pair of 3D glasses. Once the deisgned completely, it will be translated into various languages which will enable us to reach more people to make use of the comic.

Who are we?

We are a team of artists and environment engineers who  dream of a future where each one of us cares about our environment without being asked to do so by any third person. We have been working in the field of environment and design since 2011 and have been sharing how we can do our bit via various small activities.

What inspired you to do this project?

Both of us come from design and environment backgrounds. We always wondered why do people only write about the environment and not come up with something creative using design to spread the word. One evening, we just randomly started putting ideas on the table and it clicked.

Why spread environmental awareness through comic books?

As soon as children turn three years old, we start teaching them the basics of life like washing hands, eating without spilling food or how to greet people. Why dont we teach the kid right from that age to save water or respecting environment? Comic books are kids' first bunch of best friends, and we chose this medium to share simple things about the environment.

Does this comic book cater only to children?

During our prototyping, we were surprised to know that even the young adults and adults loved the concept of environment + 3D + comics. We were overwhelmed with this response. Therefore, no, our book- though targeted for children- can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

Are there similar comics in the market? If yes, what makes your project unique?

Currently, there are no such comics available in India.

Do we need additional accessories to use this 3D comic?

The comic book comes along with a pair of 3D glasses which is required to view the comics. The comics can be viewed on screen as well in 2D.

Why crowdfunding?

Making a colorful, foldable, 3D printed comic book and getting it printed and distributed is a big task. 3D technology is usually expensive. After the comic book is ready we wish to reach the masses and make this technology affordable to everyone. After having piloted this project, we are confident about the postive change it would bring in our society.

How will the money be used?

Rs. 150000 in Development

Rs. 50000 in Testing

Rs. 100000 in Production

Rs. 50000 in Marketing

Rs. 50000 in Translation

Rs. 50000 in Distribution

What are the risks and challenges associated with your project?

The biggest risk is the 'All or Nothing' model. If we dont reach our target, all the contributions will be refunded.

Also, considering environment as a wide and crucial subject, it is very important for us to reach the masses. We dream to reach majority of the schools and institutions in the country through our project, but the biggest challenge we are facing is the production cost.

What happens when I don't raise enough money?

Our dream project will take some more time to launch if we dont raise enough money. But we will continue to try our best to find another way to bring this project to life.

How am I going to prove that I won't just take all the money and run away?

After doing prototypes and research with love and dedication since 2011, there is no way we would want to run away from the project. We are all glued to it to the core!
