THE PITCH

Usually, one uses the 'crowd-funding' platform in either the pre-production stages or the post-production stages. Rarely will you find an already finished project asking for crowd funding. It's almost as rare as losing an elephant, you'd say. Which is what Greater Elephant - a 90 minute ‘dramedy’ - is about. Shot in color and in ten days - that has a chaotic bunch of people trying to find a missing elephant but in the process discover something much more purposeful than the pachyderm.

Now, having made the film with a bunch of people who were all looking for their own elephant in a way - we were waiting for the gods of distribution to help us get the film out. But as it turns out, the gods of distribution actually turned out to be the devils. We broke our back trying to make the film and now that its complete, we realize that we need to crack our skull in order to raise the funds required to help this film see the light of day, or rather, the darkness of a cinema hall!

This has prompted us to involve YOU (yes YOU) to help us get the film
reach out to the audience that it deserves, which incidentally, again
happens to be you. We want YOU to be involved in the film's journey
from the murky depths of the editing studio to the grandeur ambience of a screening theatre (popcorn + soft drinks exclusive) :)

We will be using the money to release it in theatres, advertising and on
ground promotions to help us get more people to watch the film.

The film's director - Srinivas Sunderrajan

Srinivas Sunderrajan is an Indie story-teller and film-maker, having made short films that have traveled to Film Festivals all across the globe and winning "Best Film" at some of them. He also happens to be the producer and director of "The Untitled Kartik Krishnan Project," made on a guerrilla budget of less than 1000USD - which had its 'International Premiere' at SAIFF 2010 and subsequent screenings in MAMI &TIFF, Romani. He is the co-founder of a DIY production house "Enter Guerrilla Films" in Mumbai and works as 'Space Invader'- trying his hand at directing music videos and experimental audio-visuals. He is notoriously addicted to tea and is also the bass player for Mumbai's hardcore band, Scribe - which dabbles in Bollywood Dance-Masti music

The film's writer - Omkar Sane

For his bread and butter, Omkar writes brochures. For his wine and cheese, he writes books. For his rum and coke, he writes scripts for promos. For his fish and chips, he writes columns. For his friends, he writes resignation letters. For his amusement, he writes status messages. Since he was doing none and all of these, he wrote this film.
