- Wishberry is not the recipient of any funds from the donors directly, but a service provider, which enables receipt of funds by the NGO
- While most NGOs are FCRA/FEMA approved and hence can receive both domestic and foreign funds, certain NGOs may only receive funds from India nationals (living in India or abroad). Donors to such NGOs will be asked to check a box to verify that they are indeed Indian nationals
- Wishberry retains 7.5% of the funds donated (both domestic and foreign) as administrative fees (during most fundraising events like marathons) : 4% is paid to CC Avenue (payment gateway) and remaining 3.5% covers website development & hosting cost, operations cost associated with processing donations and providing MIS to the NGO, NGO due diligence, etc.
- For certain fundraising events (college festivals, weddings), Wishberry charges a higher administrative fee of 15% to cover additional sales, marketing and operational costs.
- Donation acknowledgements, tax receipts, and other reports (e.g., of funds used) will be provided by the NGO, usually within a 30-90 day period (this delay is due to a funds holding period to allow for chargebacks, particularly for foreign credit card donors)
- Please note that tax exemption is provided on the net amount received by the NGO after deduction.
